Toagosei has been involved in the electrolysis business since the establishment of the company. Presently, the electrolysis process is performed at Nagoya Factory, Tokushima Factory, and Tsurumi Soda Co., Ltd. The electrolysis soda factories produce caustic soda and chlorine by electrolysis of salt water. Caustic soda is used as a fundamental raw material in a variety of industries. Therefore, it has been said that the extent of development in the soda industry is a measure of the economic development of that country. Typical applications of caustic soda are: digestion of dissolving pulps and bleaching of chips in the paper manufacture; dissolution of bauxite in producing aluminum hydroxide in the aluminum manufacturing process; and neutralization of fatty acids in the soap manufacturing process. Chlorine is highly reactive and chemically combines easily with other elements. It is used as a raw material in many chemical products. It is used as chlorides in a wide variety of fields.
We manufacture the following chlorine compounds at our company: liquid chlorine, hydrochloric acid, sodium hypochlorite, ferric chloride, and others. We also produces caustic potash by electrolysis of potassium chloride at the Nagoya factory. |
